The School's first year of Events (1980)

11th Feb - 68 Year 8 students enrolled, 11 teaching staff and 4 ancillary staff.

13th Feb - Inaugural bus transfer to Dover High for Technical Studies and Home Economics.

18th Feb - Music lessons commenced at Reynella Primary School.

27th - 29th Feb - School Orientation Camp - 'Parnanga' O'Sullivan's Beach. All staff and students attended.

3rd March - First High School Council meeting. Elected officers and members for sub-committees - Grounds, Canteen, Finance.

5th March - First Parents and Friends Inc. meeting. Elected officers and members for sub-committees - Sport Assoc. and Uniform.

19th March - Evening meeting to inaugurate REHS Sports Assoc. 3 Netball and one Australian Rules Football team launched.

21st March - P. & F. Hot Dog day - raised $30 dollars profit.

24th March - Students visited Festival of Arts.

25th March - Visit to Bedford Park Industries on a half day excursion.

1st April - Swimming Carnival - Marion Swimming Centre P.M. combined Year 6, 7 & 8.

1st May - P. E. O. Geoff Parkinson 'field school' visit.

16th May - Term ended with a combined Primary/Secondary music concert.

2nd June - Term 2 commenced.

4th June - P. & F. Drug Policy meeting for parents. Sr. A. Ballard from the Alcohol and Drug Treatment Board addressed about 40 parents and 8 staff.

7th June - P. & F. Hamburgers day. Raised $30.

10th June - Parent-teacher night (A-M) - interviews late afternoon and during evening.

11th June - Parent-teacher night (N-Z).

19th June - Spellathon - Raised - $320.

24th June - Induction program commenced for year 7 students intending to enrol at REHS next year.

2nd July - Parents attended meeting of the Family Planning Association.

7th July - Kaye Skinner commenced weekly lunch time electives to trial a new Education Dept. handwriting course for secondary students. 21 students attended.

9th July - Half school attended camp to Burra.

9th July - P. & F. meeting - Commemorative Port wine bottling.

13th July - Other half commenced Community Week Activities (including Human Sexuality Course).

14th July - P. & F. Ladies 'Amway' evening - Raised $30.

14th July - Flinders Medical Centre (Jay Hothurst) ran a health questionnaire with two classes.

16th July - Burra Camp/Community Week Part 2 commenced - classes swapped activities.

28th July - P. & F. Cake and Hamburger day - Raised $50.

29th July - Clifford Elk - Sth. African Exchange Student; guest speaker.

1st Aug - School football team - film and pasty night.

17th Aug - P. & F. wine bottling Commemorative Port at Pirramimma Winery.

17th Aug - End of season netball evening.

29th Aug - End of Term 2.

15th Sept - Term 3 commenced.

17th Sept - Lunchtime table tennis commenced.

30th Sept - Visit to zoo.

2nd Oct - Drama Programs Commence (Sturt College Students).

9th Oct - Students visit Pompeii display, Constitutional Museum, Advertiser Youth Art Display.

18th Oct - Commence lawn tennis, squash.

20th Oct - P. & F. Hot Dog day. Raised $30, 8.2's sponsor zoo animal.

27th Oct - Inaugural Activity Day.

3rd Nov - P. & F. wine bottling.

3rd Nov - Inaugural Activity Day.

12th Nov - Year 7 Parent Information evening.

21st Nov - R.E. Day - Walkathon, Student Social, Parent Games night.

15th - 19th Dec - Special Activities Week.
